In her debut season as a coach on The Voice, Kelsea Ballerini is giving her team a major advantage by enlisting not just one, but four powerhouse mentors—Little Big Town—to guide her artists through the Battle Rounds.

The award-winning quartet, known for their 25-year career of boundary-pushing storytelling and harmony-driven hits, played a pivotal role in Ballerini’s own rise to fame, making their involvement especially meaningful.

“They have 25 years as a band,” Ballerini told Extra TV in a recent interview alongside Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook.

“Of consistent storytelling that matters, of challenging conversations that matter, and of being a pillar in the genre that I love so much.”

For Ballerini, the decision was deeply personal. “I bought tickets to see them growing up, but they’ve also been my friends and mentors,” she shared.

“To be able to say, ‘Here, 12 artists—here are mentors I know are great because they’ve been that for me,’ it’s such a full-circle moment.”

Team Kelsea: Ready to Win?

While The Voice contestants are the ones competing, Little Big Town couldn’t help but shower praise on Ballerini’s team.

“Team Kelsea’s looking like it’s gonna win,” Schlapman declared. “Every single person on her team has risen to the occasion, and they are ready to battle. One of them is gonna take it all the way home.”

She even threw in a little Gen Z slang, joking, “Her team slays,” a phrase she learned from her daughter Daisy.

The Battle Rounds kicked off on Monday, March 10, and will continue on March 17 and March 24. Fans can catch The Voice on NBC or stream it the next day on Peacock.
